My Thoughts on Twitter and Other Social Media

An Update of My Thoughts on Twitter

It has been almost two years since I joined Twitter and completed my Facebook profile. Now I have over 250 followers on Twitter at this time. I’ve installed Tweetdeck on my laptop and desktop computers, and I  even have a LinkedIn account. Even though I need to get more serious about writing my blog, I can honestly say that I have increased my online presence.

I have gotten so involved  with online social media that there are times when I take breaks from it. It’s sad to say that I go through withdrawal symptoms on these self-imposed breaks. I can also say that Facebook and Twitter have allowed me to connect with people that I wouldn’t have been able to before, and I have learned a lot.

Here is the problem I face now, what do I say? Should I post everything that I am feeling? I’m obsessed with not saying the wrong thing, and I don’t want to  bore people with my posts.  I sometimes wonder when I am on Twitter, Why didn’t they retweet that, I thought that it was funny. When I am on Facebook I think to myself, Why didn’t they like my post, I’ve clicked “like” on all of their posts? These are the challenges that I struggle with dealing with online social media.

I know that there are  many people that do and say things on the internet that they would never do in public, but I’m just not one of them. However, I am getting more confident about my writing, so I know that it is worth continuing. Anyway, I’ll let you know next year if I still feel the same way.
